What is a Tail Lift?

A Tail lift truck, also known as a Yard Spotter or Terminal Tractor, is a specialized type of truck designed to move semi-trailers and containers within a shipping terminal, warehouse, or distribution centre. It has a fifth wheel coupling to attach to the trailer and a hydraulic lift system to raise and lower the trailer's landing gear. The Tail lift truck is designed for short-distance transportation and manoeuvring in tight spaces, making it ideal for handling cargo within a confined area. It is often used to move trailers from the storage yard to the loading dock and vice versa.
