PRIMA FEED PELLETS manufactures a balanced feed from a variety of raw materials to provide required proteins, energy, vitamins, micro and macro minerals in every pellet. Our Lucerne Pellets is widely sought after and we are proud to introduce our new 'Cotton' Feed Pellet. We substituted a part of the roughage in Lucerne Pellet for Cotton byproducts from the Cotton Gin. This has resulted in a feed that has a higher protein content more oils and better digestibility. Tried and tested on all ruminants: Game, Cattle, Sheep, Goats. We started small in 2017 feeding our own Feedlot Cattle, Chianina Stud, 'Boerbokke' and Meatmasters. We realized that there was a lot of waste and the animals tend to eat rather selectively when 'hand' mixing feed, Storing, mixing and transporting all the raw materials took a lot of time. The only way to solve these problems were to make a feed pellet. And so we bought our own Pelleting Machine. After a lot of collaboration with Feeding experts we produced our first pellets. The pellets solved a lot of problems. The pellets provide better intake of all the ingredients and the wastage is less. It is a lot easier to handle and store. Neighbors and friends quickly saw the difference in our animals and started approaching us to buy feed pellets from us. They could not believe the price versus the quality they were getting. We realized that by using all of our own ingredients and only buying the necessary which we cannot produce ourselves we managed to cut a lot of costs including transportation costs. To date we plant all our own maize, Lucerne and source our other roughage within 10km radius. There was such a big demand in a short time Prima Feed Pellets was registered on 1 Nov 2018. From selling a 1 500 bags in our first year to 10 000 the next was a huge success. The feedback has been phenomenal. Believe me when I say that we have had growing pains. Every one has at the moment load shedding is one of them. We have taken every challenge and found solutions. A great team with diversity and different skill sets allows us to constantly deliver a great product at and affordable price that we are really proud of.
